Captain’s Log

Spacers, report in! The Shepherd’s journey continues, and what a voyage it’s shaping up to be!  Thanks to your incredible support, the ship’s engines are roaring, and the mission is gaining momentum!

This is no ordinary campaign - it’s an interstellar adventure, and you’re at the heart of it. As we chart the course ahead, today’s log brings new discoveries, exciting updates, and more reasons to be thrilled about what’s to come.

Day 3 (surprise) Discovery: THE FIRST CONTACT EVA SUIT

Log Entry: We've uncovered a strange artifact aboard The Shepherd - the First Contact C09 Suit.

Now, the First Contact C09 Suit has some disturbing implications. It’s a state-of-the-art NASF frame-assisted suit, made with unknown polymers and light alloys. It has been clearly designed with alien contact in mind. The problem is… you found this suit on the Shepherd. IT was in standard use by their Miscellaneous Tasks Team… decades before your arrival. How? How can it be more advanced than your EVA Suits?

The First Contact Suit is a mid-level Suit you can loot from some containers, or ‘craft’ in the Safehouse (in parenthesis, because in actuality you are retrieving it from a MTT storage locker). The First Contact Suit is an allrounder, with a good Rubicon statline, and great action cards that allow you to reload on the move and even move diagonally! Just like the Mothsuit, this one will turn those early game runs into a walk in the park, while later on it will help you keep your own against the enemy onslaught.

Check For Yourself: We’ve included the First Contact Suit in the Dark Side of the Sun Demo, along with other powerful Gear, so you can check it out in action in some of the preview videos – or check for yourself in the TTS Mod!

Suits make up half of your character build, as they not only provide Rubicon bonuses, Vitality Levels and unique abilities, but also influence how many Gear slots you have. Each new Suit comes with a miniature or standee, as well as an Oversized Suit card.

Unlocked: Community Stretch Goals!

Discovery: Aiden Hamilton – The Prodigy

Aiden Hamilton is an introvert. She graduated summa cum laude and continued her brilliant career at the NASF Academy, undeterred by the jealousy and ire of both her peers and superiors, who judged her by her looks. She ended up with a bit of a chip on her shoulder - she needs the Coventry mission to succeed, simply to stick it to them.

Each new Character comes with an Oversized Character card and a unique Progression Tree, broadening your character creation options!

Discovery: NEW GEAR! Legacy Specnaz!

Four new Contraband Weapons and Gear from Specnaz, a semi-legendary military force from Earth, rumored to have survived the Fall of Old Orders. These NEVER jam, even when covered in alien gore.

Community Challenge Update

Spacers, you truly went above and beyond! Your participation in the 20 Comment Challenge blew us away, with nearly 100 creative and hilarious responses. Thank you for sharing what you’d bring aboard The Shepherd - it’s clear this community is packed with imagination and humor! Here are some of our favourite answers:

A towel - Naturally, you can’t hitchhike a galaxy without one.

A portable shield generator

A flamethrower

Something sentimental to help push through darker times - Awww.

The 1999 cinematic masterpiece, The Mummy, with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz  - Well, obviously you can’t survive in space without a copy of The Mummy.

A handheld camcorder to take grainy shaky footage with that will make for a great found footage documentary later

A sacrificial victim - Huh… Okay….

Today’s Mission: The 50-Comment Challenge! Share your thoughts and help us unlock even more rewards together. A brand-new Stretch Goal is on the horizon, and we need your creativity to bring it to life! As you may already know, Enormity currently features four divisions: Science, Ops, Engineering, and Security. Recently, the Cryptozoologist specialization was unlocked as an advanced option for the Science Division. Now it’s your turn to dream big:

If you could create a custom specialization for your character, what would it be?

Tell us what this specialization would do and which division would it belong to. Would it expand the abilities of an existing division, or bring something completely new to The Shepherd?

But that’s not all - we’ll choose one of your submissions, and it will be officially added to the game!

Drop your ideas in the comments below or on our Facebook page. We need 50 responses to complete this goal, so let’s hear your best ideas. Together, we’ll make Enormity even more extraordinary!

\\ MISSON LOG, NASF COVENTRY, TIME UNKNOWN

It runs all the way down from the ceiling, like a silver thread or a spider’s web. Shivers, as if moved by some unseen current. If I weren’t here the whole time, I too would not believe it. But it happened. The alien astronaut walked through it from… some other place.

It moved with purpose. Killed Heller with a mere nod. Turned her into a bloody pulp, goddamn it! Into a pulp, without even denting her suit!

Then they were gone, to fulfill whatever higher calling brought them here.

In that brief moment, when they were crossing the threshold, I think I saw- I saw a monolith. Black, and smooth, and ancient, and… evil? No, not quite. Callous. As if it stood for all eternity.

There was a flaw in the monolith's surface. A- a wound, festering. And something beyond it. Something terrible, desperately trying to get through.

The alien astronaut. They didn’t come here with a purpose.

They were running.

The Rotting Order is a hard difficult campaign that should take you 30 to 45 hours to complete.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there!
Tomorrow, we’ll show you a spotlight on one of the bosses! Who do you want to see first? Let us know in the comments!

Survey Time: Robodog or Cybercat?
